10.3. DV File

Export->DV File creates Raw DV, DV AVI, or Quicktime DV (requires libquicktime or Quicktime 4 Linux ) files from your project. You need to supply a base file name, which will be the file name stem of any file exported. Kino automatically appends a number and file name extension to the name you specify. Also, it can generate multiple flies also known as splitting, according to various criteria: scene changes ( Auto Split Files ), file size ( Max Size ), and frame count ( Frames ). Most of the options are already explained on the Preferences->Capture topic ( Section 4.2, “Capture” ).

The Update Date and Timecode option updates the recoding date and time to the system time and the timecode to the movie's running time. These metadata are embedded in the DV stream.
